A Book A Day 'Til Halloween #27... What Are you Gonna Be?

...for Halloween that is! By now everyone's picked out their costumes--but if you're still stumped, consider making your costume this year. And why not take it a step further and make it COMPLETELY out of recycled materials! Have a look at this:

This fabby fabby FAB Marie Antoinette costume was done a couple of years ago by the Sustainable Sirens (I admit I have a soft spot for Sirens!), a part of Reel Green Media. Maybe you won't do something this elaborate (why ever not?!), but here's a book of ideas on how to use recycleable materials to make a costume:

Fun idea for a Halloween Party--divide guests into teams. Each team gets a stack of newspapers, catalogs, cardboard, etc. (cans and bottles are too messy--and dangerous if you're dealing with little kids), ONE pair of scissors, ONE roll of tape and/or ONE stapler. They have thirty minutes to make a costume--Go!

  1. That's one heck of a costume, although I'm not sure how much would be left after a windy, rainy night of trick or treating :-)
